Why SEO Marketing is a Good Investment for Business

In today's fiercely competitive digital landscape, the question on every business owner's mind is this: How can you ensure your brand stands out, reaches the right audience, and thrives in the online realm? The answer, my friends, is hidden in three small but mighty letters: SEO.
Welcome to the world of SEO marketing β a game-changer for businesses. In this post, discover why SEO is a must-have investment. In a world where search engines rule, SEO propels your website to the top, attracting organic traffic and boosting your brand. Whether you're a marketer or an entrepreneur, get ready for actionable insights to help your business thrive in the digital realm. Let's dive in!

Let's begin with a definition! Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the quality and quantity of website traffic to a website or a web page from search engines. SEO targets unpaid traffic (known as "natural" or "organic" results) rather than direct traffic or paid traffic. Unpaid traffic may originate from different kinds of searches, including image search, video search, academic search, news search, and industry-specific vertical search engines. - Wikipedia
Which is more effective? SEO, SEM or Social Media?
The main difference is that Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is focused on optimizing a website in order to get traffic from organic search results. On the other hand, the goal of Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is to get traffic and visibility from both organic and paid search. We need to note that many people conducting a search on search engines such as "Google" or "Bing" today are savvy, and they tend to click on organic results rather than paid results on search engines. Each digital marketing effort, i.e. SEO, SEM and Social Media has its role to play in a digital marketing trifecta (Paid, Owned and Earned Media) for a business.
"Content is what the search engines use to fulfill user intent." - Dave Davies, Co-founder of Beanstalk Internet Marketing.
We'll share our thoughts on question 2, 3 and 4 together below.
Let's re-cap the questions:
2) The difference with SEO Marketing vs SEM
3) The difference with SEO vs Social Media Marketing
4) Why SEO Marketing is a good investment for business?
The next question is "The difference with SEO vs Social Media Marketing".
Many business owners and marketers will tell you that SEO Marketing and SEM is a better investment than Social Media Marketing.
One of the key drivers is that when advertising on Social Media, the user who sees your advertisement may have interest but no intent. A user that searches online has intent to buy or find out more about certain products or services (conducting their own research or due diligence online).
Does Social Media Marketing and Advertising work? Yes, of course it does, but we need to modify the way we market and advertise on Social Media. But for quicker results, SEO and SEM will definitely be a way to go for any new business, not saying that Social Media is a lower priority.
Social Media is important for brand awareness, customer testimonials on Facebook, Google or even shared in the form of videos and pictures on Instagram, YouTube, etc.
Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is important for amplifying your SEO marketing efforts as all SEO efforts take at least 3-6 months to show traction and results.
Reports and measurements are done once a month to continually optimize and improve the overall content and user experience to improve overall SEO ranking of business pages.
So "Why SEO Marketing is a good investment for business?", aside customers having high intention to buy when they're searching or re-searching, customers tend to remember brands and companies who shared content that has helped them in their entire purchase journey (awareness, consideration to decision).
SEO is FREE in the long run for the business, driving continual organic traffic if the optimization efforts are consistently done with new content being published on a regular basis (at least once a month).

Watch the video below as I elaborate on these 4 points mentioned above and why it helps in your SEO ranking overtime.
We hope the video has helped you to understand more about SEO, and what you can do to improve your SEO ranking.
We once wrote a blog article to address social media marketing mistakes insurance agents make, and another about social media marketing mistakes property agents make.
Both articles gained organic traction after 2-3 months and drove us consistent enquiries from both groups of audience. Therefore, SEO allows us to reach our targeted audience, and it allows us to spend less time and money on advertising.
Good SEO also builds good brand reputation for a business.
We hope these reasons have helped you understand more about what SEO is all about, what are some steps you can take to check and also improve your SEO ranking.
We would like to now share with you a FREE SEO Tool that we use and also teach in our SEO Marketing classes. This tool allows you to find industry keywords that have high search volume.

Why is high search volume important?
If people search "Instagram Marketing Course Singapore" more than "Facebook Marketing Course Singapore", what does this signal? It signals to a business interest and demand. Therefore, if i find topics I could write and share my thoughts about Instagram Marketing on my company's blog page, I will be able to get more traffic than keyword and topics with less search volume.
There are other SEO strategies where it is focus-ed on the underserved content but there is high intent to buy. But this is a whole new topic and strategy for another blog post.
